
New advances in the care and treatment of behavioral health problems are the central focus of our Behavioral Health Unit. We provide a full spectrum of
services in a caring, confidential environment for both inpatients and outpatients.
Adult Behavioral Health program
We offer a comprehensive behavioral health program for adults age 18 and older. Our therapeutic programming is designed to meet the needs of people
struggling with all types of behavioral and mental health disorders including depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. The program
includes an advanced therapeutic treatment approach, individualized treatment plans, ongoing care and discharge follow-up. Our comprehensive approach to care ensures that we attend to each patient’s emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
Neurobehavioral Geropsychiatric program
For older adults suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, Warren Hospital offers a unique, state-of-the-art neurobehavioral geropsychiatric program. Program components include:
- specialized staff trained in the care of dementia.
- advanced and specialized assessments and treatment planning.
- a newly renovated facility using textures, colors and lighting selected to accommodate physical changes associated with aging.
- a specially designed multi-sensory room containing elements that have been found to be calming for dementia patients.
Additional specialized services include complete medical and psychiatric evaluations; advanced assessments to determine the degree of impairment, and the latest medical therapy designed especially for those suffering from forms of dementia. Each patient is also evaluated by a geriatrician.
Our facility and staff
Our newly renovated 16-bed voluntary unit is designed for the security and comfort of our patients. Our experienced and compassionate staff includes board-certified psychiatrists; a neuropsychologist; a nursing liaison to long-term care facilities; registered nurses and certified nurse assistants with psychiatric training; professional licensed social workers; and occupational, recreational, and physical therapists.
Outpatient services
Outpatient services are provided by licensed psychiatrists and social workers. Services offered include psychiatric evaluations; psychotherapy for adults; marriage counseling, and medication management.
Psychiatric Emergency Services
Common behaviors associated with psychiatric conditions may include agitation; hostility; self-harm; pacing, or resisting care. Anyone experiencing an acute mental health emergency or crisis may be evaluated in Warren Hospital’s Emergency Department. Call
