St. Luke’s University Health Network Lifts Flu-Related Minor Visitor Restrictions

Lehigh Valley, PA (2/6/2013) – St. Luke’s University Health Network has lifted restrictions for visitors under 18 years of age that were established in January in response to a community-wide surge in influenza-like (flu-like) illness and under recommendations from the local health bureaus. The restriction limited minors from visiting the hospitals to protect patients and staff from influenza virus exposure.

Effective February 7, the health network will allow minor visitors access to the six hospitals located in Allentown, Bethlehem, Coaldale, Bethlehem Township and Quakertown, PA, as well as in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Visitors with active flu symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat and body aches) continue to be restricted from the hospitals.
