St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem Hosts Community Diabetes Day

BETHLEHEM, PA (10/16/2012) - From 9 am until noon on November 3, 2012, St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem will host a Community Diabetes Day.

The educational talks and activities are geared towards people who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes and Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.

The agenda for the day includes the following:

  • 9 – 10 am – meet the diabetes education staff and vendors
  • 10-11 am – “Physical Activity for Everyone” presented by Jane Manzella, Exercise Physiologist
  • 11 – 11:30 am – “Continuous Glucose Monitoring” presented by Nancy Demkosky, RN, CDE
  • 11:30 – noon – “What’s New in Nurtiriton for Diabetes?” presented by Robin Gayle, RD, CDE

Diabetes Day will be held at the St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Education Center, Lecture Room 1.

Registration is required through St. Luke’s InfoLink at 1-866-STLUKES (1-866-785-8537). The program is hosted by the staff of St. Luke’s Diabetes Education Center.
