Pain Injection Drug Recalled: St. Luke's Does NOT Use Recalled Manufacturer
St. Luke's University Health Network and its affiliated hospitals and outpatient offices do not treat patients with the recently-recalled injectable steroid called methylprednislone acetate that is manufactured by Massachusetts-based New England Compounding Company (NECC). The batch has been associated with a non-contagious form of meningitis and has been voluntarily recalled by NECC.
St. Luke's purchases the drug, commonly used to treat pain, from Pfizer.
