St. Luke's Hosts Playing It Safe Event

Jaws of Life

Quakertown Fire Department and
St. Luke's Emergency Transport
Services perform a full-scale Jaws
of Life demonstration for attendees
of Playing It Safe.

Quakertown, PA (11-1-2011) – St. Luke's Bone & Joint Institute hosted Playing It Safe on October 8. The safety event was for children ages five to twelve and featured safety exhibits for the whole family.

Children learned safety information regarding fire, animals, first aid, bullying, guns, drugs and more. Parents were offered free health screenings and safety information for natural disasters. Special activities included a K-9 demonstration and a full-scale Jaws of Life demonstration.

Event vendors included Quakertown Fire Department, Quakertown Police Department, St. Luke's Emergency Transport Services, State Farm, National Guard, the Anna Packer Project, Local Living Magazine and the Philadelphia Soul football team. Free lunch was included and T-shirts were given to children who completed all of the safety exhibits.

A special thank you to the companies who donated products for the event including Starbucks, Yum Yum Donuts, Chic-fil-A, Sal's Pizza, Domino's, Ziegler's Cider, Utz's, Hatfield Quality Meats, Swann's Pantry and Bottom Dollar Food.
